The BHS Ride Safe Award is a certification offered by the British Horse Society (BHS) that ensures riders have the skills and knowledge to ride safely in various environments, particularly on roads and in public spaces. It’s often seen as a “cycling proficiency test” for horse riders.

 

Key Details:

Purpose: To promote safety for horse riders and other road users.

Who it’s for: Riders of all levels (minimum age is usually 11), especially those preparing for further BHS qualifications like the Stage 1 or Stage 2 exams.
